Play It Forward — Early Intervention
For Families

You know your child best. We're here to walk beside you.

Wondering whether your child needs a little extra support can feel overwhelming. We make the path forward clear, warm, and judgment-free — every step of the way.

When to reach out

Trust your instincts. Consider a referral if your child:

  • Isn't babbling, pointing, or using gestures
  • Has few or no words by 18 months
  • Isn't sitting, crawling, or walking around expected ages
  • Doesn't respond to their name or make eye contact
  • Has trouble with feeding, sleeping, or calming
  • Lost skills they used to have

You don't need to be certain — when in doubt, reach out. Asking costs nothing.

Family FAQ

The things parents and caregivers ask us most.

What is early intervention?

Early intervention (EI) is specialized support for infants and toddlers (birth to age 3) who have developmental delays or who are at risk for them. Because the brain grows fastest in these years, early support can make a lasting difference.

Who qualifies?

Eligibility is based on a developmental evaluation. A child may qualify if they show a delay in one or more areas — communication, motor, cognitive, social-emotional, or adaptive — or have a diagnosed condition associated with developmental delay. We'll guide you through the evaluation to find out.

What is an IFSP?

An Individualized Family Service Plan is a written plan created with your family. It captures your child's strengths, your priorities and concerns, the outcomes you want to work toward, and the services that will help — all reviewed regularly as your child grows.

Does it cost anything?

Evaluations to determine eligibility are provided at no cost to families. Coverage for ongoing services varies by program and insurance — we'll walk you through the specifics for your situation so there are no surprises.

What does a visit look like?

Most visits happen right in your home or another place your child spends time. Sessions are play-based and built into everyday routines, with your provider coaching you on simple strategies you can keep using all week long.

How do I get started?

You can refer your own child — no doctor's note required. Submit a referral or contact us, and we'll reach out to talk through your concerns and schedule next steps.

Ready when you are

No referral letter, no red tape. Just a team that's ready to listen.
